'Early Birds' Breakfast Club
Our ‘Breakfast Club’ opened its doors back in March 2010 and quickly gained popularity with both pupils and parents.
Aptly named, ‘The Early Birds’, the children arrive from 7.45am and sit down in the school hall with their friends to a healthy breakfast of cereal, toast, yoghurt, fruit, milk and fruit juice. Everyone has their favourite breakfast menu but all the children are encouraged to try different foods and several have introduced newly discovered tastes to their breakfast tables at home! We also have a weekly 'treat' day where children can choose from pancakes and bagels in addition to our normal menu.
After breakfast, children choose from a range of activities including construction toys, drawing and colouring, board games and books. Children love to take turns with their friends on our full size Ping-Pong table - it is always a challenge for them to see how long they can keep the ball in play!
Our breakfast club is a lovely, social start to the day and the children often form friendships with pupils from other classes and year groups. It is often nice to see how older children adopt a 'buddy' role in breakfast club and spend time interacting with the younger children. We promote independence in younger children at the breakfast table - and with a lot of encouragement and a little help, they are soon buttering their own toast and adding their own choice of toppings!
If you would like your child to attend breakfast club or have any queries, please contact the school office. Each session costs £3.00 and includes all breakfast items and activities.
