Year 6/7 Transition
Re:- Y6 Transition Days 2017 - Hungerhill
Three transition days for Year 6 to visit Hungerhill have been set for Tuesday 20th, Wednesday 21st and Thursday 22nd June 2017. We are giving you the dates early to enable you to make necessary arrangements, as this will be your child’s only opportunity to visit independently, before they start Year 7. Children are required to attend on all three days.
As in previous years, a member of Barnby Dun staff will meet all the pupils in the bus bay at Hungerhill on each morning to take the register, ensure everyone has arrived safely and take them to the hall. How your child travels to Hungerhill is up to you. Some parents prefer to deliver and collect their children by car on both days while others walk if they live close enough to the school.
We have been advised by Hungerhill that using the school bus should not be an option as the school buses are already full with existing pupils and therefore they do not have enough room for Barnby Dun pupils to travel on.
A parents’ information evening will be held at Hungerhill on one of the transition day evenings. The date of the meeting will be confirmed nearer the time. This gives parents another chance to explore facilities, meet form tutors and ask any questions which might have arisen from the transition days. More information about the transition days will be sent home during the summer term.
Thank you in advance for your co-operation.
